David Taylor Flett, of York, ME, passed away on Wednesday, September 11th. He was the cherished son of the late David and Margaret (Taylor) Flett. And the adored brother of the late Robert Flett.
Born in Boston, he moved to Maine with his family at a young age and shared amazing childhood memories with his brother and cousins. He enjoyed picking blueberries for his grandmother’s pies, riding horses on the farm, and watching his mom grow and can vegetables from their land.
David was such a nurturing and loving soul. There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t ask about his grandchildren and inquired about extended family and friends. He had a heart full of compassion and possessed the ability to be completely honest, whether it was with a few simple words or a conversation on a deeper level, making him a very trusted confidant to many. He was a man of integrity and grace. David instilled these traits in each of his children. He was the kind of father that every child should be blessed to have. His children shared that “We were so grateful to have been raised and guided by a man who always did the right thing”.
David valued his 40 career as manager of The Student Center at MIT. He enjoyed scratching his daily lottery tickets. He was famous for his homemade sauce and meatballs that he prepared for all holidays and family gatherings. David’s biggest passion was his family. He especially loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They were all his pride and joy and were his world. In his later years, he moved back to Maine where he loved driving by the beach and looked forward to family visits. He will be greatly missed.

McCarron and his wife Eva, Marion Benoit, Beth Spinosa and her husband Frank, David Flett and his fiancée Lisa, Nicole Galbadis and her husband Steven, Francis Birch and his wife Trista, Danielle Phelan, the late Jennifer Phelan and the late Laura Phelan.
