Royce Arthur McBrayer, 85, of Tifton passed away Friday. September 13, 2024, at his residence. A graveside funeral service was held for Mr. McBrayer at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton,
where he was laid to rest. The Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiated.
Hal McBrayer, Kenny McBrayer, Andy Gill, Mark Gill, Larry McBrayer, Larry L. McBrayer, Allen McBrayer and Tony McBrayer served as pallbearers.
Born May 19, 1939, in Tift County, Mr. McBrayer was the son of the late Loomis Ulric “L.U.” McBrayer and Nina Belle Arrington McBrayer. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Hubert McBrayer, Clyde McBrayer, Thomas Elbert McBrayer, Melvin McBrayer, Glan McBrayer and Lloyd McBrayer; one sister, Katherine Arnold; and one son-in-law, David Hanner. Before retiring, he enjoyed farming and working at TMM Enterprises. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Tifton and enjoyed teaching Sunday School and studying the Bible.
Mr. McBrayer is survived by the mother of his children, Bobbie Garrett McBrayer of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Debbie McBrayer of Ashburn; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kim Hanner of Ashburn and Jan and Ray Zorn of Rebecca; one brother, Troy McBrayer of Tifton; two sisters, Louise Smith of Cairo and Faye Roberts of Tifton; six grandchildren, Justin Hanner, Jordan Hanner, Erica Day, Courtney Branch, Abbie Borem and Ethan McBrayer; and eight great-grandchildren, Mayghan Hanner, Garrett Hanner, Hudson Hanner, Peyton Hanner, Evie Day, Sam Day, Bella Day and Willow Branch.
