A. Theresa Malik, 93, of Wells, Maine, passed away peacefully following a brief illness, on September 15, 2024, in Portland, Maine. Loving wife and mother, she was preceded in death by husband, Edward C. Malik, and son Mark E. Davis. Devoted stepmother of Jocelyn Malik (Thomas E. Link III), and grandmother of Sage S. Link and Hugo M. Link, of Pittsburgh, PA, and loving aunt of Stephen Greene of Portland, ME, John Greene of Somerville, MA, Karen (Greene) Lewis of Quincy, MA, Kevin Greene of South Boston, MA, Janet (Greene) Hickey of Sarasota, FL, James Greene (deceased), Cheryl (Ireland) Lanza of Byfield, MA, Bonnie Ireland of Meredith, NH, and Deborah (Ireland) Sargent of Derry, NH and many great nieces and nephews.
Theresa Malik, affectionately known as “TT” to her grandchildren, was born in South Boston, Massachusetts on March 20, 1931, to Anna (Barrett) Greene and John Greene, both from Connemara, Ireland. She attended Gate of Heaven School and enjoyed summertime spent at South Boston beaches, roller skating, and spending time with her late beloved sisters Lorraine (Greene) Ireland, Mary Greene and cousin Rita (Kane) Ruggieri. Upon graduating, she served as a legal secretary at White, Inker & Aronson, PC in Boston. There she met Edward Malik, and they married September 6, 1986, in Ogunquit, Maine. She spent her career as legal secretary with her husband’s firm Malik Law Offices.
Among other things, Theresa Malik enjoyed reading, boating, pampering her pet cats over the years, and spending time with beloved family including her grandchildren. She was sincere, loving and joyous, and loyal to her dear friends and family. She treasured her life with late husband Ed Malik, and among many things, enjoyed their evening happy hours; we hope they are toasting together, he with his martini and she with her Riesling.
Visitation will be held 10:00am-12:00pm on Saturday September 21, 2024 at Casper Funeral Services 187 Dorchester St, Boston, MA 02127 with burial immediately following at Cedar Grove Cemetery 920 Adams St, Dorchester Center, MA 02124.
