Nhon Huu Tran, 83 of Worcester, died on Saturday, September 14th at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Cuc Nguyen; a son, Damien Tri Tran; a daughter, Bich Lien Tran; and two grandchildren. He is predeceased by two sisters, Ngoc Hanh Tran and Ngoc Suong Tran; and three brothers, Huu Le Tran, Huu Trung Tran, and Huu Nghiem Tran.
He was born in Can Tho, Vietnam the son of Ngia Huu Tran and Vet Thi Tran. Nhon immigrated to the United States in 1995, bringing with him a legacy of bravery and dedication that touched the lives of all who knew him. Nhon proudly served as a captain in the Vietnam Army, where he worked closely alongside U.S. forces. His unwavering spirit and dedication to his country defined his character and left an indelible mark on those around him.
Upon moving to the United States, Nhon embraced his new life with the same fervor he had shown in his service. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as gathering with friends for coffee every weekend. His passion for vegetable gardening provided him with a sense of peace and fulfillment, and he took great delight in watching soccer, a sport that brought him joy and a sense of connection to his heritage.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20th beginning at 10:00am in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Cremation will follow in Rural Crematory, 180 Grove Street. Calling hours will be on Thursday, September 19th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm in the funeral home.
