It is with great sadness that the family of Jae Song, announces that our beloved Jae Song passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Andover on Saturday morning, September 14, 2024. She was 93 years old.
Jae was born in Jochiwon, South Korea, on October 18, 1931. She was a dedicated member of her son’s church, and would spend long hours studying the Bible everyday. She was a survivor of two wars in her home land in the Korea, one being ww2 and the second the Korean War. She took the lessons learned from her life’s experiences and shared the wisdom learned with anyone she felt it could help. She was a true roll model to many people, and took great pride in helping and leading people in the community. Jae was a true angel and loved to take long walks in her neighborhood, enjoying the fresh air and the sound or children playing. As she grew old she also grew to be a women of few words, but when she spoke she touched everyone’s hearts. She took great joy in being able to be see her children, grand children, and great grand children grow up. Jae will be sorely missed by all who had the chance to know her.
She is survived by her loving children; Byungi Kim and his wife Hinsoon Joo of Deluth, Georgia and Duk Kim and his wife Sang Kim of Haverhill, brother; Jaekang Song, grandchildren; Sue Griffin, Namchan Kim, Namshik Kim and Yeonhwa Kim, great-grandchildren; Zoey Yeju Kim, Chloe Yedarm Kim, Victor Yeeahn Kim, Vincent Yebin Kim, Michael Yewoon Kim and Owen Griffin and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 5:30 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.
