Martha Elizabeth (Britton) Dwyer, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life at her home after a three year battle with cancer. She was 73 years of age.
Martha was born in Boston on May 20, 1951, daughter of the late Herbert B. Stone and late Josephine L. (Collins) Stone. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended the boston public school system and graduated from Charlestown High School class of 1969. Martha married her high school sweetheart, the late Martin F. Kane Jr. She later went on to marry the late Richard P. Dwyer.
She is the beloved mother of Martin F. Kane III. She is the loving Gammie to Madison and Siobhán Kane. She is the sister of Beverly (Britton) Gallagher, Helen (Britton) O’Donnell, Sally (Britton) Livingston-Denn and Roger Britton. She is pre-deceased by her beloved brothers Herbert and Robert Stone. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Martha found her greatest joy in spending time with her granddaughters, Madison and Siobhán, and her son Martin. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Martha's Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private. There will be no visiting hours.
