Dorsie Mae Rowell Morris, 85, of Cordele, Georgia, died Thursday, September 12, 2024, at her daughter’s residence.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, September 15, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Greg Rowell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mystic Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Morris was born September 21, 1938 in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Ollie Columbus & Mary Jane Jerigan Rowell. She had lived in Cordele for 40 years. She was a loving mother who enjoyed cooking, caring for others and listening to Gospel music.
She is survived by her children: Debra Hickey Pipkin (Randy) and Shirley Kay Rowe (Stanley); grandchildren: Melissa Walker (Jesse), Michael Bufford, Stephen Pipkin (Jessica), Eric Pipkin (Meredith); great-grandchildren: Jamie Key, Jr., Alyssa Key, Joshua Key, Isaac Pipkin, Phillip Pipkin, Laura Pipkin, Waylon Pipkin, Lucy Pipkin and Jesslyn Walker and a sister, Essie Mae Liddy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Walker Morris; sisters: Thelma Humphrey, Estelle Cole and Myrtis Lindsey and brothers: A.T. Rowell, Herman Rowell, O.C. Rowell, Jr. and J.C. Rowell.
