John J. Florek Sr, age 71, passed away on September 11, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on March 8, 1953 in Holyoke, son of the late Chester and Helen (Nicholoplus) Florek. John worked as a machinist for many years at the Whip City Tool and Dye Co before he retired. He loved motorcycles and spending time with his family. He is predeceased by his wife Deborah L. (Croston) Florek, his daughter Jennifer Florek and two brothers Harry and Chester Florek. He is survived by two sons, John Florek Jr and his wife Sarah of Westfield and Jeffrey Florek and his wife Amanda of Chicopee. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Zachary, Allison, Drew, Jayden and Owen. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Friday, September 20, 2024 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by an in house prayer service at 11:00AM.
