Obituary

Mitchell Dale Seymer
I know your life On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain
Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son

Mitchell Dale Seymer lost his long-fought battle with cancer on September 5, 2024, in Richland Washington.
Born to Wanda (Cox) and Roy Seymer on September 19, 1973, in Kennewick Washington. He spent his childhood in Prosser climbing trees, digging holes, playing with his brother, sisters, and the rest of the neighborhood kids. He spent every minute he could at the pool in the summer, coming home with bleached blonde hair from the chlorine and sunburnt skin. Mitchell valued the friends he made and called them family. Most will say that he was the funniest guy they knew, always had a joke to share or a story to make you laugh. He excelled in wrestling and Martial arts and was an avid landscaper.
Mitchell married his first wife Jessica (Gessner) with whom he had two sons, Zander, and Kaleb. They were his greatest joy, and he often bragged to anyone who would listen about their lives.
This is not how we expected his closing chapter to be written. Mitchell had dreams just like anyone else. He wanted to grow old surrounded by people he loved. He was thankful to be able to spend time and reconnect with his mother, to whom he was eternally grateful. He had said that one of the best days of his life was when he was able to spend time with his first and only grandchild.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Annie Seymer, his maternal grandparents, Hope and Dale Cougher, and his father, Roy Seymer. He is survived by his mother, Wanda (Neal) Cox, sons Zander and Kaleb Seymer, his granddaughter Sophia, his siblings, Hope, Marc (Melissa), and Stacia (Gary). Eight nieces and nephews, a great niece and great nephew as well as too many aunts, uncles, and cousins to count.
Services will be held Oct 5th, 2024, 2:00pm at Southside Church. 517 Jadwin Ave. Richland, WA.
Throughout his life Mitchell had demons that chained him down. Although we mourn his passing, we are grateful those chains are broken.
