Jean Marie Cicero, 90, of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital with her family by her side. She was a loving mother, "Nana" and "Big Nana".
Born on December 28, 1933, in Cambridge, Jean was the daughter of the late Dorothy French. She was raised and educated in Cambridge and, after marrying, moved to Brighton to start her family. Later, she and her family relocated to Waltham. In her later years, Jean resided with her daughters in their homes.
At the age of 50, Jean proudly earned her GED, allowing her to continue her career at Waltham Hospital, where she worked for many years until her retirement. Jean enjoyed taking trips to casinos and especially cherished her trips to Las Vegas with her son George. She had a deep love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and shared a special bond with her loyal companion, Shadow.
Jean is survived by her children: Dorothy and her husband George Carson of Billerica, Brenda J. Swain of Marlborough, Christine M. Bullis and her companion John Lingiewicz of Tewksbury, and Ralph Cicero of Waltham. She is also survived by her siblings: Joyce Gagnon and her husband Paul, Richard French and his wife Lena, and Edward French. Additionally, she leaves behind her longtime family friend David Pearson, 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her children George H. Cicero, Catherine Austin, Joyce M. Cicero, and Penny Ann Cicero, as well as her grandson the late Michael Carson, and her brother, the late James French.
You are invited to her visitation from 4 until 7p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the Tewksbury Funeral Home 1 Dewey Street 978-851-2061. Her funeral service will take place at the conclusion of her visitation at 7pm. Burial will be held privately at Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
