Prendergast, Mary Frances, age 81, of Hull formerly of Needham and Auburndale on September 6, 2024. Passed away peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Daughter of the late Helen C. (Craig) and Patrick G. Prendergast. Sister of the late David G. Prendergast and his wife Ellen (Nellie) of Bellingham. Aunt of Maureen Roselli and her husband Robert of Marlboro and their children Shannon, William and Michael D. Prendergast and his daughter Sofia. Also survived by many cousins.
Mary graduated from St Mary’s Catholic High School in Waltham, MA and graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston with a degree in social services. She started her life long career at Grove Hall and from there serviced many other communities and became Director of Welfare services in Waltham and retired in 2001. She enjoyed traveling especially cruising with friends and family, trips to Maine, spending time at the ocean, playing card games, attending sporting events, recitals, school concerts and anything that her family would be participating in she would always show up. The most important thing to her was spending quality time with family! She was always very giving of her time and very thoughtful and put others first before herself .
There will be a private memorial Mass and interment to be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Mary’s memory to Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center, South Shore Health Foundation, 55 Fogg Rd. S. Weymouth, MA 02190 or www.southshorehealth.org/give
