Joel M. Pressman, formerly of Chelsea, Swampscott, and Revere, entered into eternal rest on September 6, 2024. He was 84.
Joel was born in Virginia and spent the majority of his years in Chelsea. He was the son of the late Meyer Pressman and Anne (Brass) Pressman. He graduated from Chelsea High School and Suffolk Law School. He went on to become the Mayor of Chelsea and the Chairman of the Industrial Accident Board for the State of Massachusetts.
Joel is survived by his beloved children Matthew Pressman and Skyler (Pressman) Gardner and her husband Zachary Gardner and their children Cole, Hunter, and Callie, and Matthew and Skyler’s mother Karla Firestone and her husband James Firestone. He also leaves behind two brothers, David Pressman and his wife the late Patricia Pressman and their children Jonathan and Douglas, and the late Paul Pressman and his wife Janet Pressman and their children Mara and Elana and their families, as well as many extended family and dear friends.
