Malcolm (Mac) E. MacLeod, 96, passed peacefully at his residence at Stoneridge Senior Living in Mystic CT. Mac was born in Reading MA on June 11, 1928. He was the son of the late Mildred (Richardson) MacLeod and Everett W. MacLeod.
He was a devoted husband of 56 years predeceased by his wife Irene B. (Fazio) MacLeod. Mac was a loving father of one daughter Bonnie Sue MacLeod of Bear River, Nova Scotia, and son Johnny A MacLeod (Paula Christina) of Westerly, RI. He was predeceased by two sons, Michael MacLeod (Patricia) of Houston TX and Russell MacLeod (Laurie) of Hawthorne FL. He also leaves ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He is survived by a sister Marsha Leighton of Wakefield MA, and a brother Duncan MacLeod of Waltham MA, and predeceased sisters Evelyn Rex of Reading MA and Eleanor Crispo of Merrimack NH.
Mac retired as MCPO after 22 years in the US Navy Submarine Service. He and his wife resided in many places before settling in Groton CT upon his retirement from the Navy in 1968. He then went on to work as an Electrical Engineer at GDEB for 22 years.
Mac always rooted for the Boston Red Sox and the NE Patriots and he was a big fan of Johnny and the East Coast Rockers. During his 18 years at Stoneridge, staff and residents became his extended family. He loved ice cream, music and uplifted all in his community by his singing and wit.
