HOLLIS CENTER- Forest “Chuck” Edward Bachelder, age 65, of Hollis Center, ME passed away on September 6, 2024.
Born in Portsmouth, NH on September 30, 1958 as Gene Alan Willey, he was adopted at 2 days old by Linwood Mark and Elizabeth Arlene (Lewis) Bachelder. They moved around Cumberland County while he was a child, staying wherever his father was building houses. They finally settled in Gorham, ME where he graduated from Gorham High School in 1976. He worked various jobs while in high school until at 22 he finally found the job he loved. He worked for Shaw Brothers Construction for 38+ years. He loved working in the pits and quarries where he met a lot of good friends.
He was predeceased by his father, mother, sister Jan Hodgkins, and stepdaughter Tiffany Jordan Westberry.
He is survived by his daughter Desirae (Bachelder) Lyle and husband Tyler of Parsonsfield, ME, friend and ex-wife Shirin Garland of Parsonsfield, ME, stepson Damon Jordan of Casco, ME, niece Rebecca (Bachelder) Rader and husband Jerry of McKee, KY, grandchildren: Austin, Jade, Riley, Devon, Jameson and Dallas, friends Johnny & Peggy Douglass and their family.
Visiting hours will be from 4pm – 6pm Friday, September 27, 2024, at Chad E. Poitras Cremation & Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Rd.(Rt. 22) Buxton. There will be no burial at this time.
