Charles Edgar “Chuck” Garrard

Charles Edgar “Chuck” Garrard, 88, of Anderson passed away on September 8, 2024 at Community Hospital in Anderson following an extended illness.
He was born on July 6, 1936 in Muncie, Indiana to Charles Edgar and Lela Garrard. He graduated from Muncie Central High School in the class of 1955. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Education and a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Ball State University.
He taught at Lawrence High School in Indianapolis for 15 years and then was a substitute teacher. He was a sales manager that sold tax guides for Apprentice Hall. He won several trips to Hawaii and France along with many plaques for his outstanding sales.
He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church in Rome City, IN. He was an avid sports enthusiast who especially loved baseball and football. In his earlier years he was a bat boy for the Muncie Reds. He enjoyed going to his lake home and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 40years, Lucinda Garrard of Anderson; a sister, Patricia Turner of Noblesville; two nephews, Scott and Keith Turner; two great nephews and his two beloved dogs, Teddy and Sam.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be at 5:00pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Rozelle-
Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Corinne Boruff officiating. Entombment will take place at a later date in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm-5:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
