Ronald Paul Buchanan, Sr. passed away after an illness on September 4, 2024 at the age of 75. Ron was a resident of Quincy, Massachusetts and a former resident of Newport News, Virginia. Born on November 28, 1948 to the late Clifton and June (Vollrath) Buchanan, Ron grew up in Norwood, Massachusetts and graduated from Norwood High School.
He was a proud master automotive technician for decades and had a talent to fix anything and everything mechanical under the sun. Ron always had a story to tell and never shied away from making sure his thoughts were known. His headstrong and distinctive perspective on the world were clear in how he navigated life. And there is no denying that he was responsible for many bright spots throughout his lifetime—the brightest being his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother Clifton Buchanan and loving daughter, Laura Jean Buchanan.
Husband to Diane Brownell of Medway and then Marilyn Bioni of Quincy, he is also survived by his son Ron Buchanan, Jr. and his wife Brienn of Norton, his daughter Rachel Eldridge and her husband Keith of Manchester, New Hampshire, granddaughters Eily and Cailyn Buchanan of Norton, his best canine buddy Major, and cousins and friends.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, September, 16th at 11 AM in Saint Mary’s Church in Norton.
