Auburn—Emery F. Thoren, Sr., 84, died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at home. His wife of 56 years, Marguerite W. (Berglund) Thoren, died in 2004. He leaves 5 sons and 4 daughters-in-law, Emery F. and Wendy Thoren, Jr., of Raymond, ME; Bernard J. Thoren of Auburn; David R. and Kim Thoren of Port Orchard, WA; Donald L. and Janet Thoren of Charlton; and Bruce T. and Laurie Thoren of Auburn; 9 grandchildren, Jessica, Roxi, Mary, James, Erika, Stephanie, Julie, Ashley, and Keith; and 1 great-granddaughter, Daphne. A brother, Roger Thoren, predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester, son of Francis A. and Mildred I. (Cook) Thoren. He was co-owner of the former Thoren’s Dairy for 23 years. He retired from Meola’s Dairy, West Boylston, as a milk processor. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, the Mystic Valley Railway Assn., and a mason with the Morningstar Lodge.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 31, at 9:30 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 30, from 5-8 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester.
