LIMINGTON – Philip George Dearborn, age 91, passed on September 3, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
He was born in Limington, Maine on February 7th, 1933, a son of the late George and Mildred (Thorne) Dearborn.
After graduating from Limington Academy, Philip went on to attend the University of Maine in Orono.
He proudly served in the U.S Air Force as a Ground radio operator with the 102nd aircraft control and warning squadronincluding serving time in Tripoli and Africa in 1953.
After fulfilling his service with the U.S. Air Force, Philipreturned to Limington and married his first wife Patricia (Gerry). They built a home in Limington and welcomed three children:Dianne, Debbie and Tom.
For 30+ years, Philip was employed by Nestle’ as a salesman, retired and become a self-employed carpenter for many years.
Later in life, he re-married and he and Julia spent their remaining time in Limington. They enjoyed going to Snickerdoodles, meeting friends for coffee and making trips to Ireland, Scotland and Bermuda.
He was a life-long New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, enjoyed horse sulky racing, continuing his wood working and blacksmithing activities.
He enjoyed visiting his son Tom, always bringing coffee and donuts for them to enjoy. Tom loved his father’s coffee productsfrom the Nestle’ Company, so Philip ensured he was well stocked.
He was a member of Adoniram and Buxton Masonic Lodges in the Grand Lodge of Maine, A.F. & A.M, played snare drum for Kora Highland Band, participated in Limington Historical Society, Served as a Selectman and Member of Planning Board for the Town of Limington.
He is predeceased by his first wife Patricia and second wife –Julia, Daughter – Dianne, Sister – Ruth
He is survived by his daughters – Debbie (Ron) Shepard, Susan (Darryl) Trafford, Son, Tom Dearborn. Brother – Arthur (Bonnie) Dearborn, Sister – Patricia Dearborn.
Grandchildren – Ben and his wife Ashley (Annabelle, Bowen) Shepard, Josh (Asa, Logan, Mia, Cole) Sellick, Jeremy (Hanna, Katelyn) Sellick, Jordan (Maverick, Cole) Trafford, Cameron Trafford.
Neice – Alexandra and her spouse Phil Curtis, Nephew – Adamand his spouse Olga (Adam Jr., Olivia) Dearborn.
Graveside services at Limington Village Cemetery will be held amongst family which will be conducted by Will Rankin, Pastor of South Limington Baptist Church.
