John R. Lambert, 79 of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Patricia (Owen) Lambert with whom he celebrated 43 years of marriage last December.
He was born on June 10, 1945 in Cambridge and was a son of the late Anthony Lambert and the late Bridget (Hennessy) Lambert. At the age of five, he moved to Tewksbury, where he attended the area schools, graduating from Lowell Trade School.
John dedicated 20 years as a mechanic for the Wilmington Highway Department. John loved spending time at home, working on things and fixing up the yard. He was a lifelong member of the Tewksbury Elks.
In addition to his wife, Patricia Lambert of Tewksbury, he is survived by his step daughter, Laura; two grandchildren, Tina Wozniak and her husband, Mike of Chelsea, and Angelee Ganno of Salem, NH; his sister, Mary Lambert of Tewksbury; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his stepchildren, the late Donnie Zirngiebel and Steven Zirngiebel; and his siblings, the late Paul F. Lambert, the late Elizabeth Parker, and the late Joseph Lambert.
On Wednesday, September 11, 2024 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 10 a.m. - 12 noon at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury 978-851-2061. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 12 noon, followed by procession to Tewksbury Cemetery for burial.
