Anne M. Bennett, of Little River, SC formerly of Woburn and Beaumont, TX, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 5, 2024. She was 77. "Nancy" as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was born in Woburn and was one of five children of the late William A. and Ann H. (Meehan) Bennett, Sr.
Nancy was a graduate of St. Charles High School in 1965. She then attended the Graham Junior College in Boston and graduated in 1967. Following her graduation, she began working for Northern Textiles in Boston for many years before moving to Beaumont, Texas and later Austin, Texas where she worked at the University of Texas Law School from 1983 to 1987. While in Beaumont, Nancy also worked for many years as an administrative Assistant at St. Jude Thaddeus Church and St. Anthony Church where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister. She eventually moved to Little River, South Carolina and worked in Retail for many years. Nancy loved people and was active in many organizations over the years. She belonged to the Beaumont Symphony Women's League, Neches River Festival, St. Jude's Women's Club, St. Anthony's Women's Club and organizing the St. Anthony Altar Festival. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parrish in Little River and was a member of the Ladies League there as well as a Eucharistic Minister. Nancy loved to golf and ski, she loved spending time at the Beach in Rye, New Hampshire with family and friends especially her nieces and nephews and her mother prior to her passing. Nancy will fondly be remembered for her love of people, especially her family and her love for a cup of coffee no matter the time of day.
Nancy is survived by her siblings Kevin Bennett of Texas, Barbara L. C. Bennett of Rye Beach, NH, the late William A. Bennett, Jr. and Lawrence E. Bennett. She was the loving aunt of Justin Jarrell, Joshua Jarrell, Kiley Burns, Ryan Bennett, Elizabeth Bennett, and William A. Bennett III. Many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and longtime friend Burt Faulkner.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, September 11th, at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Anne's memory to the St. Charles Church Restoration Fund, 280 Main St., Woburn, MA 01801.
