Eric E. Rook, 37, of Amherst, New Hampshire died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 23, 1986, he was the loving son of Christine A. (Passi) Patton of Londonderry, New Hampshire and the late Eric C. Rook.
Eric grew up in Bellingham, Massachusetts. His family moved to NH in 2001, and he resided in Amherst, New Hampshire for many years until moving to Weymouth one year ago.
Eric was a jack of all trades. His favorite being cooking and working at Walnut Hollow Farm in Amherst. In one of his FB posts, he gave a shout out to those family members (especially his grandmother Jennie Rook and his mom) for his cooking skills. Quote “Because of y’all, I don’t need to measure anything, don’t have to guess what goes good with what, and know how to make fabulous meals out of nothing and everything!!!”
He had a golden heart, a willingness to assist anyone in need. He helped many get through dark times. He had a contagious smile, was a comedian, and the best person to get a hug from! He was genuinely a “good dude.”
Eric had a great love of nature. Enjoyed fishing, hiking, big storms and camping. During a hike with Miranda, Mark, and his mom, he was able to get a dollar bill to stick to the ceiling of one of the AMC huts in NH. He also had the love of computers, technology, and video games. When he was young, he would take apart gaming systems, VHS players, and his mom’s record/CD/radio player. Needless to say, nothing got put back together.
Recently he took his mother, sister, step-sister Miranda, and best friend Doug, into Boston to see their first burlesque show. He also had his dreams come true and got to meet his favorite band “Twiztid.” He went in character and had many people after the concert taking pictures with him as they thought he was part of the band. “Whoop Whoop”
He always looked forward to spending time with the light of his life, his daughter, Cherokee. They always had lots of fun sledding, pumpkin carving, horseback riding, swimming, or any outdoor adventures.
Eric is also survived by his sister Sarah Rook of Manchester, New Hampshire, his daughter Cherokee Rook of Manchester, his grandparents, his nephew and niece – Nico and Harper Poulin, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
