Frances M. (Camelio), Sessa, Age 89, of Medford MA, passed away on September 5, 2024. Frances was the first child of the late Giovanni and Anna (Trapani) Camelio of Somerville, MA. She was the beloved wife of Aldo Sessa to whom she was married for 66 years. Devoted mother of Kathleen Sessa-Federico and her husband Richard of Reading, MA, Ann Sarno and her husband Daniel of Wilmington, MA, and Amy Tenaglia and her husband Stephen of Medford, MA. Loving grandmother of Cassandra Sessa and her boyfriend Justin of Walpole, MA. Sister of Cosmo Camelio and his wife Patricia of Port Saint Lucie, FL and John Camelio and his wife Barbara of Woburn, MA. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Frances will be remembered for many things, the most colorful of which was her flower-filled garden, a place where she spent countless hours and that gave her great joy. She was an avid reader, consuming multiple books each month, with mysteries being her favorite. A long-time fan of baseball, Frances could be found during the summer months watching Red Sox games with her husband, all the while pointing out what management was doing wrong.
And yet, at her core, Frances cherished most taking care of her family and her home. There was nothing she enjoyed more than sharing stories with her loved ones around the kitchen table. As one of her high school friends once noted, “I remember how easy it was to make Frances laugh.” It was a full-body experience when she was amused.
Though she experienced declining health the past couple of years, Frances was able to access that enduring sense of humor through to her very last days. To her family, she was a pillar of strength, and they will miss that wonderful laughter most of all.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, September 14th at 8:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 to 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
