Merle Alvin Spicer, 63, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at his residence.
Graveside memorial services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Brushy Creek Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will greet friends following the services at the cemetery.
Mr. Spicer was born June 25, 1961, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late James Littleton “J.L.” & Anna Lucille “Lucy” Gibson Spicer. He lived in the community all of his life and attended East Central Technical School. Mr. Spicer loved going camping, the beach, gardening and just being outdoors. Mr. Spicer worked with his family at Spicer’s Abattoir in Ocilla and was a lineman for Fitzgerald Water Light & Bond and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his children: Kassidy Munn & Dexter of Fitzgerald and Bryant Alvin Spicer of Warner Robins; a sister, Kay Spicer Branch & James Allen; a niece, Krystle & Richard Wu and a nephew, Jonathan & Christine Branch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jamie Spicer.
