Cosmo F. Albano, a long-time resident of Woburn died peacefully on August 28, 2024, after an extended period of declining health. He passed away a few weeks shy of his 95th birthday.
He was the beloved son of the late Giacomo and Maria (Spinosa) Albano. He was a cherished brother and was preceded in death by his siblings Salvatore, Marie, Anthony, Rocco, and Pauline Calderone. He is survived by many cousins, nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
He spent his entire career at Raytheon where he met his soulmate and the love of his life, Louise Taft of Chip-In Farm in Bedford. They spent many happy years together. He was universally known for his kindness, love of magic, and was always ready with a new joke or two. Cosmo was a proud Air Force Veteran having served as a radio operator on B-52 bombers in North Africa during the Korean War.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, especially Wes White and Ray Bentley with whom he shared afternoon coffee and daily phone calls.
The family would like to express its deepest gratitude to Lindsay Osgood RN his private nurse who provided support and friendship over the past several years along with Victoria Feenstra, RN who recently joined his care team. We would also like to thank his care team at MGH especially Dr. Daniel Horn and Roberta Terrazzano RN for her years of care management.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, from 10-11AM at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, MA followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd, Woburn, at 11:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. Services will conclude with military honors and burial at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bedford Street (RT 62) Concord, MA.
