SOLA, Donna M. (Gillis) at age 80, of Naples, FL and Dedham, MA, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on September 4, 2024. For 48 years, she was the devoted wife of Anthony “Tony” of Roslindale.
Donna was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Edna (Powers) Timmons. Donna was the devoted mother of Anthony Sola, Jr. and wife Ann of Natick; Michael Sola and wife Geralyn of Cockeysville, MD; Richard Sola and wife Kim of Fairfield, CT; and Timothy Sola of Los Angeles, CA. Additionally, Donna loved dearly her seven grandchildren, Meghan, Michael, Emily, Kelly, Matthew, Christopher, and Ryan Sola. All of whom enjoyed numerous trips and adventures with her and Tony and will all greatly miss her energy, humor, and love.
She was the sister of Irene (Deborah) Weckesser late of Hanover, Thomas Timmons and his wife Susan of West Roxbury, Michael Timmons and his wife Sharon of West Roxbury, Richard Timmons and his wife Cindy of Franklin, John Timmons and his wife Patty of Canton, Susan and her husband Steve Sullivan of Franklin, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Donna received her associate degree in accounting from Bentley College (1964). She was the Bursar at The Roxbury Latin School for a number of years. Donna was an active member of the St. John Chrysostom Church serving as an Eucharistic minister and volunteer. She was a long time member of Bears Paw Country Club in Naples, FL where she made a hole in one.
Donna was known by her friends and family as a generous, passionate, and dedicated woman who enjoyed life, loved her family and friends, and always brought a smile to those who spent time with her.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, Monday at 10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington Street, West Roxbury at 11:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4:00-7:00pm. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's memory to: St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington Street, West Roxbury.
