Anne grew up in Westport, Connecticut and attended Dana Hall School and then University of Connecticut. Following her studies at UConn, Anne met her husband, Fred, a fellow Husky.
They were married in 1957 in Westport, CT. In 1968, Anne & Fred moved their family to Mountain Lakes, NJ where they raised their family & lived happily for 25 years.
While raising four active boys, Anne became well-read on methods for treating cognitive impairments and used that knowledge to the benefit of her son, Cliff. In her “spare time,” she also managed to return to school to earn a degree from William Paterson University, and went on to work as an accountant.
Throughout her life, Anne was an active part of her community and regularly donated her time and expertise to organizations including the Junior League, the ARC Morris, St. Peter’s & Christ Episcopal Church & Southbury Training Center.
Anne always liked to keep busy, and enjoyed spending her time with friends, many of whom she
had lifelong relationships with. Some of her interests included gardening, quilting, cooking,
travel, music and singing.
Anne was immensely dedicated to her family. She wouldn’t hesitate to hop in the car or take a train to celebrate special occasions, or enjoy a vacation with family. She valued family history and created and nurtured many special family traditions over the years (e.g., anonymous valentines, jelly bean cakes, and gift Christmas balls). Anne leaves her family with an abundance of happy memories and traditions to pass onto the next generation.
