Robert Alyn Flynn
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bobby) Alyn Flynn, of Dracut MA, on Sunday September 1st. He lived his final moments surrounded by the love of his family.
Bobby was born April 5, 1962 in Everett, Massachusetts to Barbara A. (Brown) and Thomas E. Flynn Sr. He grew up in Tewksbury and spent most of his adolescent years with his sister Deedee and close friends by his side. Their adventures were endless. The mutual respect and love they had for one another carried on throughout their lives and into their final moments together.
He was a kind and caring man, a gentle giant, always living life in the moment. Bob enjoyed the simple things, exploring the outdoors and tinkering around on new projects. He loved to cook, and he could turn anything into a gourmet meal. He loved his mom’s potato and pasta salads, and grandma’s noodles. Bob enjoyed tending to his plants with a radio blaring. A horse with no name will forever play on in our hearts. He had a passion for flying and cars, especially his corvette. He had the most amazing stories and could talk for hours, keeping anyone who was listening enthralled with the details.
Bob had a deep respect for our military and veterans alike. He loved his camo jacket given to him from his nephew and God-son Shane, who he shared a special bond with through the years.
Bob spent many years in the Black Hills of South Dakota alongside his sister Laurie and his Lakota friends, adopting their spiritual beliefs and way of life. He had a passion for geology and enjoyed prospecting for gold. He had such profound respect for the world and nature around him. He is and forever will be the most authentic and free-spirited man to grace this earth.
Bob returned home to Massachusetts to be close to his mother Barbara, with whom he shared the most beautiful bond. They enjoyed watching Gun Smoke and Wagon Train, but most often would just appreciate the company of each other. They loved one another with grace and respect, and mutual admiration. Together they adopted a lost stray cat named Lilly, whom they both love very much. Their kindness saved her life and brought into this world four sweet baby kittens. Bob’s love for his babies never wavered, and he felt comfort knowing they were surrounded by the love of his mother, a love he knows for himself to be boundless.
Bob was a funny, charismatic uncle, whose smile and laughter could lift others spirits. His nieces Kayleigh and Cheyenne, alongside his great niece Aria were able to experience this together. His light will live on in the songs we play and the places we go, for every step we take in this life, he will remain everlasting.
Bobby is survived by his daughter, Jacki Rose Brouillette and her husband Kenneth Brouillette, of Pepperell; three grandchildren, Sapphirah Cooper, Gwenevhirah Cooper, and Hammond Brouillette: beloved parents Barbara A. (Brown) and Thomas E. Flynn Sr. In addition to his parents Bob is survived by his seven siblings: Dierdre Harrington, Laurie, Cory, Bryan Flynn, Shawn, Wendy, and Thomas. He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews, especially Robert, Tristan, Shane, Kayleigh and Cheyenne Harrington, as well as his great niece Aria. He will be dearly missed by his good friends near and far, but most importantly his “girly girl” Sandy and his “brothers”-Jack, Mike (and his wife Shelly), Chuckie, Will, and Danny.
A viewing for Bobby will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer ceremony in his honor to begin at 7 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home located at 16 Lee St. Tewksbury, MA 01876.
