Arthur L. Smith

Arthur L. Smith, 54, of Anderson passed away at Ascension St. Vincent’s Anderson following an extended illness.
He was born on December 28, 1969 in Anderson to Leo W. and Geneva (Powell) Smith. He graduated from Madison Heights High School in the class of 1988. He earned an associate’s degree in Industrial Supervision and a Bachelor’s of Science in plastic molding and manufacturing engineering both from Ball State University.
He worked at Eaton Corporation as an operations manager. He formerly worked at Autocar Trucks, Syndicate Sales in Kokomo, and Delphi.
He was a Past Master Councilor of the DeMolay. He enjoyed traveling and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry (Summitt) Smith of Anderson whom he married on May 16, 2003; a brother, Leo M. (Jenny) Smith of Galveston, IN; a mother-in-law, Shirley Summitt of Anderson; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Stacey and Ted Buck of Anderson; three nieces and nephews, Andrea Smith of Galveston, IN, Kaitlin (Matt) Edwards of Indianapolis, and Kyle Buck of Anderson; three great nieces and nephews, Leo Allan Smith, Arlena Smith, and Beckett Edwards; his beloved dogs, Fred and Dusty and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Billy Joe Summitt.
A funeral service will be at 11:00am on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating. The burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00pm on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the funeral home.
