Dennis Michael McMorrow of Weymouth, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2024. Beloved son of the late David J. McMorrow, Sr. and Dolores (Clark). Dear brother, Diane Albertson and her late husband David of Marshfield, David McMorrow, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Norwood, Daniel McMorrow and his wife Susan of West Roxbury and, Donna McIsaac and her husband James of Brighton. Also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and 9 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Dennis will be sorely missed by his companion, Karen Harrison and her dog Sadie. Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his many cousins and countless friends.
Dennis was also predeceased by his nephew, David J. McMorrow III, and his beloved Golden Retrievers - Captain, Sailor and Sassy.
Dennis will be fondly remembered by his close-knit classmates from Boston Latin ’78 and Mass. Maritime Academy ’82. He was loved and appreciated as a member of the Weymouth-Braintree Elks #2232, as a former employee of Texaco and Brewster Ambulance, and as a good neighbor of the Wisteria Condominium Community. He will likely be missed by Milk-Bone Dog Biscuit Co, as he carried “cookies” in his pockets, always prepared to greet a dog.
As a Merchant Marine, Dennis traveled to places like Dubai and Singapore. He could navigate a ship by the stars. Yet, he was happiest at home surrounded by his friends, family and dogs.
Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury on Thursday, September 5th at 9:00am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa of Avila Church at 10:00am.
