Norman William Daley, 79, of St. Helena Island, South Carolina, formerly of Franklin died August 29 at his home following a brief illness. He was the husband of Kathleen ( Leamey) Daley for the past 50 years.
Born in South Boston, January 19, 1945, the son of the late William and Bridget (O’Shea) Daley, Norman was raised in Jamacia Plain and had lived in Franklin from 1988 until 2009 when he moved to South Carolina.
Norman had worked for the Davis Construction Company for several years and prior to that had worked for several printing companies in the Boston area.
Norman loved to go fishing and liked to do all kinds of “fix It” things for himself and others.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of SP4.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Norman Daley and his wife Lisa of Franklin and Sean Daley of Camden , South Carolina. He was the father of the late Brian Daley.
He is also survived by his sister Anne Kelly of Millis and he was the brother of the late Edmond Daley and Gerald Daley.
Norman is also survived by his grandsons Shane and Tanner Daley.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 5 in St. Mary’s Church, Church Square, Franklin, MA at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Millis.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin 131 Main Street, Franklin.
