Obituary

CENTER OSSIPEE --- Rick Kimball, 65, of Hillside Drive, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Rick was born on November 9, 1958, in Nashua, NH, the son of the late Charles Kimball and Joan (Marcoux) McMichael.

Rick was an incredible man with a big heart and he was an inspiration to those who knew and loved him. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it and offer support in any way that he could. He was kind, thoughtful and forgiving. Despite every struggle he faced, he still held onto hope that there was something better around the corner.

He didn't have any true hobbies or interests, choosing instead to dedicate his life to his children, grandchildren and his family. Though he raised three children as a full-time single parent and sole provider, he never let the stress of life bring him down because in his words “The children are the only thing that matters". So much so that he took on the role of dad and grandfather to every child he encountered.

From early childhood he took on a fatherly role to his siblings, but most notably to his sister. Watching out for them, standing by their side, loving them and being their biggest supporters.

If he had spare time, he filled it with his love for playing lottery tickets and watching the news. It would have been a rare sighting if you ever saw him without a cup of coffee in his hands, most mornings preferring to drive to the big apple to get his favorite cup of coffee and trade in the previous day’s tickets.

Rick worked a lot of jobs throughout his life, but his last job, working at Ossipee Concerned Citizens for their meals on wheels and in house dining for the elderly program was by far his favorite. He made strong connections throughout the community while working there. You would often find him offering to help the elderly that visited his work with projects and tasks at their homes. There wasn't anywhere Rick went where he didn't make an impact on the people and the places around him.

Rick was a small man with a big heart and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Rick is survived by his son Michael Kimball, of Tuftonboro, NH; daughters Susan Kimball, of Silver Lake, NH, and Laura Kimball, of Center Ossipee, NH; brothers Robert Cheney, of Hudson, NH, and Randall Kimball, of Wentworth, NH; sister Esther-Jean McMichael, of Center Ossipee, NH; grandchildren, Alliya Libby, Asher Kimball, Logan Libby and Seeley (Oliver) Hidden; as well as one niece, three nephews, three great-nieces and three great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 2:00pm, at Ossipee Concerned Citizens, 3 Door Street, Center Ossipee, NH 03814.

In the spirit of celebration, and for his love of the lottery, Rick's family would encourage visitors to honor his life by donating a scratch ticket in his memory if they wish. Or the family also suggests memorial donations be made in Rick’s name to Ossipee Concerned Citizens, 3 Dore Street, Center Ossipee, NH, 03814.
