Frances L. “Fran” Power (Savickas), age 73, of Somerville, formerly of Cambridge. After
a period of declining health, Fran passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving
family. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Murray K. Power. Loving
stepmother to Joseph Power and his wife Gretchen of Westford. Loving step-
grandmother (Nana Fran) to Jake and Reese Power. Beloved daughter of the late John
and Margie (McCabe) Savickas. Loving sister to Peggy Wilkins-Shea and her husband
John of Somerville. Loving sister to Theresa Paolillo and her husband Sergie of
Somerville. Loving sister to the late Joan Stultz and Robert Savickas. Also survived by
many nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom she loved so much.
Fran worked as a waitress at Jeveli’s Restaurant in East Boston for 37 years where she
also met the love of her life Murray. Through the years, they traveled everywhere
together. They especially loved being by the ocean. Fran was an energetic, outgoing
waitress with great dedication to serving her customers, always with a smile.
Fran had the best of times, for many, many years, being with all her friends. She was a
people person who loved going on trips, and simply hanging out, laughing and having a
great time. Fran enjoyed any time she was able to spend with her family and friends.
Fran’s cheerful attitude and bright smile will be remembered by all who knew her. She
will be forever missed.
Visiting hours will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, on Thursday, September 5, from 5-7PM, A funeral service will be held in the funeral home beginning at 6:45PM. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private.
