Obituary

Diane K. Malley-Parcella, of Tewksbury, MA passed away peacefully in her home on August 29, 2024.

Diane was born in Springfield, MA to Peter and Sophie (Kalinko) Malley on April 22, 1950.

Diane was hard-working and driven throughout her life. She loved her family, Russian Orthodox faith, and higher education. In her youth, Diane enjoyed spending time with her older sister Beverly, traveling internationally with her Aunt Helen, cooking with her grandmother, and every moment with her father.

Diane worked to put herself through college at Northeastern University, earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degree. During this time she also met the love of her life, Gerard, and soon became part of his gregarious and affectionate Italian family for the next 46 years.

As the first generation in her family to pursue a college degree, Diane understood the transformative power of education and worked her entire life to help countless others achieve their academic goals, working at Middlesex Community College for the majority of her career as Director of Academic Planning, among other positions.

Diane was fierce, funny, and creative. She was an exceptional cook, an avid reader loved to travel, and was a lifelong learner, but above all, her greatest joy was as a wife, mother, in-law, grandmother and aunt to her family.

She leaves behind her beloved husband Gerard, her sister Beverley Huot, her children, Lisa, Christopher, and Michael, son-in-law James, daughter-in-law Rachel, grandchildren Julian, Elisa and Lila, and grandpups Indy, Luna, Cosmo and Fredo, along with many adored nieces, nephews, in-laws, and grandnieces.

Calling hours are Wednesday, September 4th, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Funeral services celebrating her eternal life will be held Thursday, September 5th, at 10 a.m. at the Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church, 15 Prospect Street, in Maynard, MA.
