Mary Rosalie Gnam (Rosie), 85, of Ventura, CA, passed away on August 23, in Ventura. Rosie was born in Carroll, Iowa, to Louis and Nelle May Gnam on June 16, 1939. She went to high school at Carroll High School and graduated in 1957. She went on to earn a degree in Home Economics from Iowa State University. She enjoyed feeding family and friends and attending to her roses. She love Lake Okoboji where she used to spend summers as a kid and lived through one winter when she retired. Rosie worked at Southern California Edison. She retired on June 1, 1994, after 32 years of service. She was part of the Santa Clarita City Council in the late 80’s.
Rosalie is survived by her nieces Carol (husband Brian; son Sean) of Mukilteo, WA; Martha (husband Mark; daughter Amanda & son Jackson) of Santa Fe, NM; and nephew Bill of San Diego; and her cousins Mary Kay (husband Allen) of Omaha, NE, Christiane (daughter & family Gabi, Aaron, Adalynn, & Dustin) of Ventura, CA and Cary, IL; Karen (husband Orestes) of Bakersfield, CA; Kathy of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and partner’s daughter and son, Nancy (husband Rudy) and David (Debbie) of Ventura, CA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite Alzheimer’s organization. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Cypress Place Senior Living fabulous staff; Assisted Hospice staff, and to End of Life Doula, Carol Lynn Healy.
Rosie was loved and will be missed.
