Melissa Owens “Missy” Lott, 61, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, August 30, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, September 7, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Bradley Floyd officiating.
Missy was born August 5, 1963, in Warner Robins, Georgia, to the late A.J. & JoAnn Handley Owens. She was a 1981 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. She attended ABAC and Albany State University. Missy was the deli manager for Piggly Wiggly in Ocilla where she cooked many great meals and was an accomplished cake decorator. She loved animals and would adopt a stray in a minute. She loved big and was especially fond of her grandsons. She was a caregiver to her mother in her later years.
She is survived by her children: Michael & Alyssa Lott of Fitzgerald and Melissa “Nikki” Lott & Eric Stout of Fitzgerald; grandsons: Aaron Lott and Caleb Wilkerson; sisters: Susan & Ernie Parsons of Tifton and Terri & Bradley Floyd of Tifton; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews that she loved as well as her best friend, Cindy McCauley of Fitzgerald.
Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, is in charge of arrangements.
