Obituary

GILFORD ---- John “Jack” Philip Gillis III, 69, of Gilford, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Concord Hospital- Laconia surrounded by his two sisters.

Jack was born on September 23, 1954, in Lowell, MA, the son of the late John Philip Gillis II and June (Hartman) Gillis. He grew up in Lowell, MA, and resided in Gilford, NH. Jack spent many years on Lake Winnipesaukee in Lake Shore Park.

Jack proudly served in the US Army. He also worked as a truck driver for UPS. Jack also worked for the Town of Gilford and the Gilford School System. He enjoyed kayaking, hiking, photography, and biking. Jack loved spending time with his nieces.

Jack is survived by his sisters Ann Carpenter and her husband Wayne, of Nashua, NH, and Gail Chamberlain and her husband Neil, of Englewood, FL; 3 nieces, Jillian Chamberlain, of Los Angeles, CA, Kristen Chamberlain, of San Diego, CA, and Lauren Carpenter and her partner Matt Gustin, of Beverly, MA; and 1 great-nephew, Casey Gustin.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 3:00pm- 5:00pm in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Memorial Service will follow the Calling Hours at 5:00pm also at the funeral home.
