Obituary

Mr. Craig A. Connolly, a resident of Salem, New Hampshire, and beloved husband of Mary A. (Snyder) Connolly, passed away at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Thursday morning, August 29, 2024. He was 77 years old.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on October 9, 1946, he was the beloved son of the late Thomas and Alice (Richardson) Connolly. Craig was a graduate of Andover High in 1964 and completed an engineering degree from Lowell Technological Institute in 1969 after 2 years at Tufts University. He was employed as a Quality Control Analyst for Raytheon, for 37 years after starting his career at GE in Pittsfield, MA. In his spare time, Craig enjoyed working in the yard, visiting Newfound Lake and York Beach, reading, and playing disc golf. He played the guitar and was able to build anything he put his mind to, and it was usually for his boys or grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by those who were lucky enough to really get to know him and his sharp wit and sense of humor. Above all, Craig was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Besides his beloved wife of nearly 56 years, Mary, Craig is survived by his loving sons and daughter-in-law; Eric M. and his wife Christina M. Connolly of Northbridge, MA and Christopher A. Connolly of Derry, NH, sister; Sally and her husband Joseph Conlon of Pelham, grandchildren; Ethan and Elizabeth Connolly and his niece and nephews. Craig was also the brother of the late Thomas Connolly.

His family would like to thank Dr. Ankur Mehta and his team at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute-Merrimack Valley for his compassionate care over the past decade as well as the staff at the Holy Family ICU whose kindness was much appreciated in his final hours.
