Shirley L. Texeira, 68 of Lowell, passed away after a long illness on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Bear Mountain Nursing Home in Lowell.
She was born on November 28, 1955 in Lowell and was a daughter of the late John Texeira and the late Helen (Wyman) Texeira. She was raised in Lowell, where she attended the area schools.
Shirley had a passion for watching tennis, but her greatest joys were found in trips to the casino, playing keno and bingo, and scratching scratch tickets. A social butterfly, she loved being around people, especially her family.
Shirley is survived by her sons, George Texeira and his wife, Elena of N. Chelmsford, and Corey Texeira and his partner, Melissa of Lowell; her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Julie, Natalie, and Noah.
She is also survived by her siblings, John Texeira and his wife, Mary of Tyngsboro, Patricia Dutily and her late husband, Steve of Lowell, Mary Lou Briand and her husband, Bruce of Hudson, NH, and David Texeira and his wife, Maryann of Lowell. Shirley also had many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, the late Christopher Texeira; and her siblings, the late Phyllis Texeira, the late Roland Texeira, the late Judy Texeira, the late Sue Ponte, and the late Carol Bilapka Pereira.
At her request, there will be no funeral services.
