Auburn – John Turnan, 68, of Auburn, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, August 24, 2024 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus.
John is survived by his loving wife, Kristina L. (Stearns) Turnan; his two sons, Sean and Pat; a sister, Nancy Beauregard; 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He also will be sadly missed by his cat, Tyler “Boo Boo”.
John was born in Worcester, son of the late, Richard Turnan and Lorraine (Hope) Annesty. He graduated from South High School in Worcester and attended Worcester State College.
He worked for many years before retiring due to illness at Plantation Towers in Worcester and previously worked for Community Healthlink.
John never turned down an opportunity to go fishing. He especially loved going to the Cape Cod Canal, the Wachusett Reservoir and Polaski, NY. When he was not fishing he always enjoyed camping, relaxing on his deck listening to music and having some beverages and taking vacations to both Cape Cod and the White Mountains.
Funeral services are being held privately and are under the direction of Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of John may be made to the ASPCA – www.ASPCA.org
