Worcester – Eveline R. (Madore) Letourneau, 98, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024 in the Saint Francis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an illness.
Eveline was married for 70 years to the late Hector J. Letourneau, who passed away on May 12, 2018. She is survived by two sons, Louis Letourneau and his wife, Kathy of Worcester and Marc Letourneau and his longtime companion, Cheryl Mara of Shrewsbury; four daughters, Jeannine Whittemore of Shrewsbury, Laurette Erickson of Rindge, NH, Claire Boudrieau and her husband, Tim of Rindge, NH and Alice Letourneau of Worcester; 22 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Eveline was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Louis and Laura (Belanger) Madore and is also predeceased by her daughter Paula, and 6 brothers and sisters, Lucienne J. Ducharme, Roland O. Madore, Gerald E. Madore, Rene A. Madore, Dora A. Campbell and Louise A. Guerin.
She graduated from the former Worcester Girls Trade High School and was a longtime member of Sacred Heart – St. Catherine of Sweden Church. She was also a member of the auxiliary at the former Main South American Legion Post #341 and the Grafton Hill American Legion Post #323
Eveline was a talented seamstress. She loved to be with her family and always cherished the times that she was able to spend with her large family, especially her children and grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Saint Francis Home for the exceptional love and care that was given to Eveline over the many years while she was a resident.
The funeral will be held on Friday, August 30, from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Sacred Heart - Saint Catherine of Sweden Church 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 29 from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home.
