Janet M. Desmond, a devoted mother, cherished sister, and loyal friend, passed away on August 22, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on November 8, 1956, Janet spent her life in Boston, where she cultivated a deep love for the city’s sports teams and the community she called home.
Janet’s days were filled with music, a constant source of joy for her, from morning until night. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the warmer months when she would often be found at the beach, or in the yard soaking in the sun and enjoying the company of her friends and family.
A dedicated worker with a generous heart, Janet took great pride in caring for her close friends and the many others she met throughout her life. She expressed her affection to everyone through the dishes she prepared. Her kindness and willingness to help others made her a beloved figure in every circle she was a part of.
Family meant everything to Janet. She held her sisters, brothers, and aunts close to her heart, always lending advice or to be someone that listens. But her deepest love was reserved for her son, whom she adored beyond measure. Janet’s pride in her son was evident to all who knew her, as she would eagerly share photos and stories, lighting up every room with her infectious enthusiasm.
Janet’s warmth, laughter, and caring nature touched everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and countless cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Janet is survived by her son, her devoted siblings, her extended family, and friends who will forever remember her with love and gratitude. May she rest in peace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Janet's Visiting Hours on Friday, SEPTEMBER 6, 2024 from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. with her Funeral Service at 5 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private.
