Elisa Quintanilla, 88, of Worcester died Saturday, August 24th at home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by four sons, Remberto Hernandez of Worcester, Gavino Hernandez of Worcester, Luis Hernandez of El Salvador, and Melvin Hernandez of Worcester; three daughters, Rubidia Hernandez, Noelia Hernandez, and Paula Silvia Jacques all of Worcester; her siblings, Elba Quintanilla, Margoth Quintanilla, Miguel Quintanilla, and Bertha Quintanilla; 23 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Mauro Hernandez; her children, Wilfredo Hernandez, Chanito Hernandez, and Elisita Hernandez; and three siblings, Maria Quintanilla, Isolina Quintanilla, and Manuel Quintanilla.

She was born in El Salvador, the daughter of Feliciano Perez and Juana Quintanilla and immigrated to the United States in 1986, bringing with her a spirit of resilience and a deep love for family. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Elisa cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was nurturing her family, whether it was through the bounty of her vegetable garden or the delicious meals she lovingly prepared. Her garden was not just a source of fresh produce, but a testament to her patience and care.

In her professional life, Elisa worked as a machine operator in various plastic manufacturing plants, where her work ethic and dedication shone brightly. But it was in the simple, everyday moments that she truly thrived—gardening, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church. Elisa will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her warm heart, and her remarkable ability to bring people together with her cooking and gardening. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created with her loved ones and the love she so freely gave.

Her funeral is Thursday, August 29th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 28th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
