Obituary

DeLOLLIS Olindo of Wellesley, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Olindo DeLollis, a remarkable man whose life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and boundless love. Olindo, 92, left this world on August 24, 2024, surrounded by family who cherished him deeply.

Olindo was born on October 28, 1931, in Fallo, Italy. From an early age, he exhibited an extraordinary sense of curiosity and an insatiable desire to explore the world around him. He came to America when he was 17 years and in his late 20's fell in love with his wife, Annette.

Despite being a man of many talents, Olindo was best known for his unwavering commitment to his family and friends, his unyielding work ethic, and his incredible ability to inspire those around him. He dedicated his professional life to engineering and was always working on projects around the house, rearchitecting even the simplest design, or completing a school assignment for his grandchildren that was clearly above their years. He was also passionate about food, nourishing those around him with incredible meals served with profound wisdom.

When Olindo (Nonno) wasn't in the kitchen, he could be found on the ski slopes, enjoying some nice wine, or celebrating an achievement of one of his children or grandchildren. Every December, Olindo and Annette hosted the annual cookie night, where all their grandchildren gathered at their home in Wellesley to be together, celebrate the holidays and decorate Christmas cookies.

Olindo’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Annette; their children, Debora, Tina and Constantino and their spouses, Michael Pettiglio, Keith Greenfield and Heidi DeLollis. He had a special and unique bond with all 10 of his grandchildren (and their spouses), never missing an event or special occasion. Lauren (Daniel), Kadie (Allen), Michael (Paulina), Stephanie, Jordana (Cameron), Christopher (Madeline), Jordan (Bianca), Nicole (Daniel), Adamo and Tucker. He had 8 great grandsons, Damien, Quinn, Dylan, Noah, Theo, Dominic, Callan, Cole, with one more on the way. Olindo loved celebrating the new cycle of life and would glow every time he got the news another baby was on the way. He was the definition of a family man and took great pride in watching his family grow. His legacy will be remembered and will live on through the hearts of all of his family and friends.

Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 477 Washington St. (Rt. 16) Wellesley on Wednesday, August 28th from 4-8PM. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, August 29th at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Church, 502 Washington St., Wellesley at 10AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.

Olindo DeLollis will be deeply missed, but his love and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to share in his extraordinary life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation on Olindo's behalf to the National Kidney Foundation. Olindo's family is thankful for all of the love and care provided at the end of his life by his team of doctors, Dr. Appelbaum, Dr. Kemp and Dr. Williams and the team at North Hill.
