GILMANTON IW ---- Patrick ‘Pat’ A. Rollins, also known to some as “Rolly”, 63, of Gilmanton Iron Works, NH passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH, after a long and fierce battle with kidney disease.
Pat was born on September 18, 1960, in Plymouth, NH, the son of Fred and Barbara (Powell) Rollins.
Pat was a 1978 graduate of Winnisquam Regional High School. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was known for his column, “The Outdoorsman”, in the Laconia Citizen on hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
Pat was employed as a pressman at the Laconia Citizen and then Fosters Daily Democrat in Dover as a working Pressman Supervisor until his retirement in 2019.
Pat enjoyed spending time camping and fishing in the White Mountains with his wife and two children. Pat also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family members in New York and on Anticosti Island in Canada. Pat was also a good woodworker, building furniture for family members with great art work on it. He was famous for making a venison lasagna to share with family and friends.
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Patricia (Therrien) Rollins, son Ian Rollins, daughter Gillian Rollins, mother Barbara Rollins, mother-in-law Helen Therrien father-in-law
Armand Therrien, brother Frederick Rollins, sisters Charlene Hughes (Greg) and Cheryl Kenney (Billy), brother-in-law Father Shawn Therrien, sisters-in-laws Susan White (Charlie) and Karen Nixon (Biron Bedard), nieces Sarah Davis, Jamie Walker, Alex Nixon and nephews Johnathan, Matthew, and Adam Ober and Spencer Nixon. Pat is predeceased by his father Fred Rollins, sister Jennifer Ford and several aunts and uncles.
