Tannetta, Joseph James Jr. of Millis formerly of Dedham.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph James Tannetta Jr. on August 22, 2024, at the age of 66, after a hard fought battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Joe was born on August 24, 1957 in Boston, Massachusetts to Joseph James Tannetta and Jeanne (Essex) Tannetta.
Joe grew up in Dedham, Massachusetts and excelled in several sports, especially hockey. After a hockey scholarship in Elmira, New York Joe returned home to Massachusetts to start his family where he had his four children Joey, Steven, Nicole, and Jason. Joe loved being a father and loved coaching his children’s sports team.
Joe worked most of his life with his hands. He was a Master Plasterer and skilled Stone Mason who was never afraid of hard work and known for his work ethic. A lover of Disney, politics and could be heard on most local talk radio shows giving his 2 cents about current events. His quick wit and great sense of humor made him easy to be around.
Joe has spent the last 35 years with the love of his life Mary Ellen Jordan. Fondly known as Nana and Papa, they raised their grandson Joseph in Millis Massachusetts since 2004. Joe was known for his persistence and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Impacting all those he came across. He loved his family immensely and will be missed beyond measure. We love you Papa.
