Marylou “Maise” (Reardon) Morgan, 87, of Abington, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on August 21 at South Shore Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Abington on October 4, 1936 she was a lifelong resident of the Musterfield neighborhood of Abington. Daughter of Louis Reardon and Hannah (Barry) Reardon. She graduated from Abington High School in 1954 and Northeastern University in 1959, the only female member of her Civil Engineering class. She worked as the Zoning Enforcement Officer and Building Inspector for the Town of Abington for many years.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years Ernest Morgan. She also leaves behind two sons Louis Morgan and his wife Heather, John Morgan and his wife Natalie, both of Abington, two daughters Dr. Julia Morgan of Rochester, NY and Claire LaPointe and her husband Joseph of Abington, 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter, Maisie, who was named after her; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her sister Kathleen Kelley.
Maise will be remembered for her smile, her sense of humor and her faith. She belonged to St. Bridget Catholic Church her entire life. She enjoyed sewing, spending time with her family and an occasional trip to the casino.
Family and friends are invited to attend Marylou’s visiting hours Sunday, August 25th from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A funeral service will be held Monday at 9:45 AM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 AM in the St. Bridget Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Abington. A burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland.
