Gestin Lormeus, 69, of Middleboro, MA went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Tuesday August 6, 2024. Born on October 15, 1954, native to Port Au Prince, Haiti, he was one of ten siblings by the late Teo Issac and Amazille Lormeus.
Gestin met Deborah in Boston, Massachusetts and the two married in October 1995. They had their beautiful wedding celebration at this very church, House of Prayer #5. Their union blended our big family of 6 children: Gino, Handy, Patricha, Mitza, Phoebe, and Joy. As well as, 10 grandchildren, whom he cherished and loved dearly. Gestin was loving, gentle, and kind; he loved the Lord and used his light to always encourage the ones around him.
Gestin was steadfast and hardworking. His passion for working with children led to his long-held career with the department of transportation. For twelve years he worked for the Collier County public schools as a Bus Driver in Naples, Fl. Then he served as a Crossing Guard for the City of Somerville, MA for many years. Lastly, he joined JSC Transportation group and drove for the League School of Walpole, MA. He believed that all children are a gift from the Lord and should be surrounded with love and encouragement to do great things.
Gestin loved serving in ministry. As a member of HOP#5 he served as a Deacon and Minister for many years before moving to Florida. While attending New Hope Ministries in Naples, FL; Gestin served on the Prayer team, Worship team, and Men’s ministry for 14 years. Gestin was a man after God’s own heart. He lived his life for God, and it showed in his devotion of time to the church.
Gestin had so many gifts and talents. He was a self-taught musician. At a young age, he began singing in his local church and learning how to play piano and the bass guitar. He also loved cooking, making his famous rice and beans. Gestin also loved fashion, his uniform for any occasion was a suit, tie, dress shoes and a fragrant cologne.
Gestin is predeceased by his parents Teo Issac and Amazille Lormeus. Gestin is survived by his Wife, Deborah Lormeus. Their children, Gino, Handy, Patricha, Mitza, Phoebe, and Joy. 10 grandchildren; Kirby, Shamiah, Christian, Naomi, Marissa, Handly, Jonathan, Harvey, Mya, and Hosea. His Mother Refilna Merisca and Brothers Weid Lormeus, Jean Lormeus, Carlo Lormeus and Andelson Merisca. As well as host of cousins all other relatives and friends.
Services in the House of Prayer #5 Apostolic Church, 848 Main Street Brockton Saturday August 24th at 10 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton. Viewing in the Church from 9 am prior to services.
