Obituary




Robert E. “Bob” Tretheway, 57, a lifelong resident of Worcester died Tuesday, August 20th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after a long illness. He leaves two brothers, Jim Tretheway and John Tretheway both of Worcester; a sister, Donna Corbett of Oxford and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, George.
Bob was the son of the late Richard H. and Sandra (Belhumeur) Tretheway and was a proud graduate for South High School. He worked for Imperial Distribution as an order picker for several years, retiring in 2023 due to illness.
Outside of work, Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, spending countless hours at local ponds, casting his line, and enjoying the tranquility of nature. His love for history often drew him to the History Channel, where he could be found soaking up knowledge and stories from the past.
Bob was also a master of the grill and the kitchen. Known for his exceptional cooking skills, he was the heart of every gathering, especially during Thanksgiving, where he took great pride in preparing a feast for his loved ones. His presence at the grill during parties will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and unforgettable meals. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, his love of life, and the joy he brought to those around him.
His visitation will be held on Monday, August 26th from 5:00 until 6:45 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue followed by his funeral service at 6:45 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
