Obituary

PAWCATUCK: Josie Myrtle (Bolles) Eaton, 95, of Pawcatuck died Sunday, August 18, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Rev. Dr. David H. Eaton who died in 2013.
Josie was born on October 22, 1928 in Rockville, CT, the daughter of John Fletcher and Josie Myrtle (Hoyt) Bolles. She grew up in Newington and attended Newington High School.
She worked as a secretary for local doctors for many years.
Josie loved going to the family summer home in Vermont and going on trips to Europe. She enjoyed each season and decorating for the holidays. She loved witches and angels. She enjoyed nature, antiquing and especially spending time with her family and many friends. Josie was a member of Christ Church, Westerly, and the North Stonington Historical Society.
Josie is survived by three sons, Robert and his wife Deb Becker of Bethel VT, Stephen and his wife Therese Becker of Belchertown MA, Bruce Becker of Pawcatuck, and stepson Ken and Patricia Eaton of State Road NC. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her daughter Lynn Elizabeth Becker and siblings Jack, Dick, Tom and Bob Bolles.
Josie’s family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, August 25, from 3 to 5pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, August 26, at 10:00am at Christ Church, 7 Elm Street, Westerly. Burial will follow in Stonington Cemetery, Route 1, Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Stonington Historical Society or the Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Association.
