George Preston "Beaver" "Knute" Edwards, Sr., 82, of Chelmsford, formerly of Lowell, Lawrence, and Wilson, NC, passed away peacefully at his home. He was the beloved son of the late Willie Edwards and Lula May Edwards. George grew up and was educated in Wilson, NC.
After high school, he relocated to Massachusetts, first settling in Lawrence, then Lowell, and eventually making his home in Chelmsford after his retirement.
George worked as a welder for over 30 years at Process Engineering in Plaistow, NH. Beyond his professional life, he was passionate about music and enjoyed DJ'ing at parties, clubs, the ELKS, and Laconia events.
An avid fisherman, George also had a love for softball, particularly playing with his team, Soul Patrol.
He is survived by his five children: Tyler Dodge, Crystal, Melinda Crabtree, Kristen Harrell, and George Preston Edwards Jr. George is also survived by several grandchildren, many siblings, numerous friends, and his former wife and good friend, Carmen Joubert.
